Registration:
For in-person presenters and attendees, registration includes attendance, refreshments, symposium pack, and administration. A student discount is available for in-person presenters and attendees. For remote presenters and attendees, registration includes attendance to conference sessions via Zoom webinar, a digital symposium pack, and administration. Accomodation and Travel:
The Sydney CBD hosts a wide array of accommodation options within an easy travel distance to the Conservatorium, ranging from backpacker hostel to five star. Those nearest to Circular Quay and Sydney Harbour are typically on the pricier side.
Direct train services run frequently between Sydney Airport and the Sydney CBD. Taxis from the Airport to the CBD are readily available at most times but can cost in excess of $50.
The best way to get to the Conservatorium is via public transport. Circular Quay station is the nearest interchange for rail, bus, and ferry services. It is located on the City Circle train line which has frequent connections from all suburban lines and major bus routes, and trains can be caught from Circular Quay direct to Sydney Airport. Public transport in Sydney uses the Opal ticketing system which allows payment via contactless credit/debit card.
Parking is not available at the Conservatorium and parking fees in the Sydney CBD are very expensive, so attendees are encouraged to choose public transport.
Symposium Dinner:
The symposium dinner will be held at 1989 Arcade Bar on the night of Tuesday 1 October. 1989 has a bunch of old coin-operated game machines and a great selection of food and craft beers. We’ll make our way there following the Tuesday afternoon session of the Symposium, meeting at around 6pm. 1989 is also running their monthly pop culture trivia night that night (free to participate but not mandatory), so if you want to join in, bring your trivia brain.
